- Writer
If you’re someone who’s good with words you can apply for this job. Writing doesn’t necessarily mean being a published author but can also refer to content writing in which you are to write blog posts, magazine articles, etc. Anything to catch a reader’s eye. Writing is definitely something much more attractive to creative minds, it is inexpensive to start out with and requires no extra material. As long as your material is original and innovative you can end up earning a lot. You can either sign contracts and be a full-time content writer or opt to freelance.
- Tutor
Got a knack for helping your friends learn before tests? If you are sure in your confidence to be able to teach and boost a kid’s self-esteem tutoring is for you. It does require effort and is a generally underappreciated job but you will have a lot of clients and can end up earning a lot especially if you gravitate your marketing towards children belonging to older grades (O Levels, FSC). All of this can be done from the comfort of your home as long as you develop a room dedicated to peace, quiet, and studying for the students.
- Social Media Manager
Social media has completely taken over people’s lives. A lot of businesses thus have started to market and advertise their product through social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook. Often businesses struggle to keep up with running their business while also managing marketing. To do so they hire social media managers for the company’s pages. A job that is completely online and home-based is comfortable for the employee whilst also surprisingly being very well paid due to all the rave about social media in this generation.
- Baker
This is definitely more of something that starts out as a small business and eventually grows. Many restaurants actually are home-based. As long as you have a driver to deliver your food you can manage and cook everything from home. Many cooking/baking businesses that have started out from home eventually have grown to have restaurants in multiple locations. This can be a great initiative for people who want to stay at home but still want to give time to a job. It is also self-employment meaning you get to be your own boss.
- Graphic Designer
Along with the talk about social media management graphic designing is also another interesting home-based job you can consider. Many companies use posters to catch people’s eyes as they walk by as people are much more likely to stop by and notice a colorful poster rather than long text. Companies always have the need for someone to design their ads, posters, logos, or visuals for their pages/website. Graphic designing is also something that pays very well, the more skill you have the more you end up getting paid.
