Being a teenager can be a tedious job. Not only do you have so many exams to deal with, but also have to worry about future career-related decisions. Except that having no source of income can’t exactly be the happiest highlight of your life. You may think working implies sitting in an office or that you have to be way older to start a job. I’m sure many of you consider getting a job at a comparatively young age optional or unnecessary but this is far from the truth. Getting a job can help improve your communication skills and encourage professionality. It can also give you a lot of other skills depending on the job but mainly it helps you gain a sense of independence as you are earning your own money and are responsible for it.

One of the most common ways to earn from home is freelancing. Considering the current pandemic many people want to earn a few bucks to support themselves while also staying cautious and safe. The easiest way to do this is freelancing. If you have a specific skill that you feel is profitable for example, content writing, graphic designing, voiceovers, etc then you should move towards freelancing. Social media and platforms like Fiverr had made freelancing easy and accessible. You can advertise your services with ease and best of all you can do this all from home.
Odd Jobs
Another way to earn money, especially if you live in a friendly neighbourhood is doing odd jobs such as babysitting, walking dogs, washing cars, etc. Offering to help mow lawns or take care of the kids for a few hours can relieve a lot of stress from busy adults. If you live in a close-knit community it can be a lot easier as neighbours trust you and your services enough to hire you while also paying you a good amount. You can also offer to buy other people’s groceries, saving them the trip to the grocery store. However, if you aren’t willing to get your hands dirty it’s better to stick to a bunch of specific jobs instead of advertising generally. Tutoring
Tutoring or study academies are also a very popular way of earning money. If you have transport arrangements you can offer to go to the client’s house, however, you can also set up arrangements to tutor children at your own house. This is especially useful if you have that one subject you’re especially good at. As a teenager tutoring, a younger group of children may be easier for you. Seventh graders and below may be a good place for you to start. Understand that even though tutoring may be easy, you should always take your job seriously no matter how informal or easy it may seem.
Selling
This may not exactly count as a job but selling items on the internet is a good way for you to learn to manage a shop and gain some money. If you want to specifically sell some items you can set up a small website or Instagram page to help you sell the items. If you just have a few random items you want o get rid of, you can advertise them on social media or become a seller on Daraz, AliExpress, and any other similar website.
Home Appointments
This one may only be for someone who is a lot more confident and has better communication skills but taking home appointments for specific stuff such as makeup, hair or general hygiene is a good way to start earning money. Especially for young girls interested in the craft. Home appointments for massages, beauty, waxing, etc have become a current occurrence.
